The leading opposition party, the Toburo Democratic Party, has won a majority in the South Korean parliament following the results of voting in 254 single-mandate constituencies, Yonhap news agency reported, citing data from the republic's Central Election Commission.

According to the results of processing 99.7 percent of protocols, Toburo won in 161 constituencies, while the president's Civic Force party will get 90 mandates. The New Future Party, the New Reform Party and the Progressive Party won one mandate each.

Single-mandate districts determine 254 of the 300 seats in South Korea's National Assembly.

The remaining 46 mandates will be distributed according to the results of voting on party lists. Instead of "Toburo" and "Civic Force" their "satellite parties" took part in this vote.

After 95% of the ballots were processed, the opposition won 13 seats and the presidential party won 19 seats. The newly formed Revitalize Korea Party won 12 seats. The remaining two seats went to the New Reform Party.

In the 2020 election, Toburo won a total of 180 seats, while the predecessor of the Civic Force won 103 seats.
