Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky said that after negotiations with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, he decided to allocate a billion pounds to support Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the British government will send an additional £1 billion to the country. "Great news from London: Britain will allocate an additional 1 billion pounds to support Ukraine," he said on Twitter.
Zelensky added that it will mean new investment, trade and security support for the country. The Ukrainian leader also noted that after talks with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson last year, the amount of injections into the country's economy will increase to 3.5 billion pounds.
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba later clarified that the funds would be used for "infrastructure, healthcare and clean energy projects".
