China is rapidly developing its military capabilities to change the world order that has been established since World War II, said U.S. Chief of Staff Mark Milley.
According to him, Beijing is actively investing in the navy, hypersonic missiles and other advanced technologies. China seeks to become a leading global nation on a par with Russia and the United States. Milley believes this could be the end of the established post-war world order in which only two superpowers are recognized.
The U.S. is entering a geostrategically more complex world in which technology is developing at an unprecedented rate. It is much more complex and less stable.
Milley emphasized that the U.S. needs to modernize. Otherwise, Washington risks falling far behind Beijing.
