Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre De Croo believes that a legal framework is needed for this.
EU countries have commented on the likelihood of transferring to Kiev the revenues of private companies from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation. According to Belgian Prime Minister Alexandre De Croo, such a move could have a negative impact on the international financial situation, destabilizing it.
Therefore, De Croo believes that the use of revenues from Russian frozen assets in favor of Kiev requires a legal basis, which Brussels is currently unable to provide, writes Politico.
While there is no such legal basis, Belgium and Luxembourg are afraid to take such a step, as they do not want to bear all the legal and financial risks associated with the transfer of frozen assets.
Earlier, it was reported that officials in the USA demanded that Russian assets be transferred to Ukraine.
