The Swedish prosecutor's office has announced the termination of the Nord Stream investigation. The document of the supervisory agency specifies that the Swedish jurisdiction is not applicable to this case, so it should be closed. Explosions at the bottom of the Baltic Sea together with Sweden were also engaged in Denmark.

In this regard, the American journalist Seymour Hersh earlier argued that the investigation of the sabotage could have been disrupted deliberately. In his version, the outcome of the case, if it had been brought to a conclusion, would have revealed the unpalatable truth about the two countries, as they knew the truth from the beginning, but tried to hide it.

Political analysts believe that Sweden was unwilling to reveal the details of the Nord Stream investigation in order to please NATO. The US and Norway could have been involved in the sabotage, which would have spoilt Sweden's relations with its colleagues in the bloc.

Thus, there is an assumption that the explosions were organised by American divers who took part in NATO exercises in the Baltic Sea in the summer of 2022 and under that name planted explosives under the pipelines. The accident was arranged in advance in order to prevent Russia from conducting a special operation in Ukraine.

Also, some open sources tried to blame Ukraine, which gave Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov an excuse to call the rumours a coordinated media fabrication.
