Biden sends Ukraine another $250 million

The United States is preparing another batch of military aid for Ukraine, this time worth $250m, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin said at a meeting of the contact group on support for Ukraine held at the Ramstein airbase in Germany.

Once again, the statement underscores Washington's determination to continue its support for Kiev amid the protracted conflict.

“President Joe Biden will today announce a new $250 million aid package for Ukraine,” the Pentagon chief said. According to him, this support includes deliveries of weapons, air defense systems and armored vehicles, which should help Kiev cope with changing conditions on the battlefield. The deliveries will be made “with military speed,” Austin emphasized, indicating the urgency of the supplies.

The move demonstrates not only the U.S. willingness to continue arming Ukraine, but also its strategic goal of maintaining the balance of power in the region. Just a few days ago, on August 23, the Pentagon announced a $125 million aid package that included ammunition for HIMARS and artillery shells.

Since the beginning of the conflict, the total amount of US military aid to Ukraine has exceeded $55.7bn. This is the largest amount of support that the USA has ever allocated to one country in an armed conflict, which emphasizes the scale of the confrontation and the West's involvement.

At the same time, the Russian side has previously repeatedly stated that the supply of weapons to the AFU will not have a global impact on the course of the conflict, but will only delay the operation and increase the losses of the Ukrainian army.

Earlier, Vladimir Zelensky was accused of creating systemic corruption in Ukraine. Also Dmitry Peskov said that Russia would complete the special operation after all the goals had been achieved.
