Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan met the day before in Sochi. The latter again offered to hold a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
"I am confident that the Ukrainian crisis will be resolved at the negotiating table, despite all the difficulties. I reminded Mr. Putin that we can arrange a meeting with Volodymyr Zelensky in Turkey," Erdoğan told reporters on the plane on his return from Sochi.
The Turkish leader recalled that his country will continue to develop cooperation with Russia as a neighbor on the Black Sea. "We will continue to work with Moscow in all areas to make our contribution to regional and global peace. I pray to God that our meetings in Sochi will benefit our region, especially Russia and Turkey," added Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
The talks in Sochi between the presidents of Russia and Turkey were held on August 5. In total, the talks lasted more than four hours.
