A visit to Zaporizhzhya NPP will be one of the items on the programme of the visit of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General Rafael Grossi to Russia.
Rafael Grossi intends to arrive in Russia in mid-February, as he himself announced on the air of a Western radio station. According to him, "dialogue is necessary," which is why he needs to be in Russia. At what level and with whom the negotiations will be held, the IAEA head did not specify.
It is only known that at a meeting of the UN Security Council he warned of a real threat of a major nuclear accident at the nuclear power plant in Zaporozhye. No meeting with Vladimir Putin is planned: as the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov specified, there is no such event in the schedule of the head of state.
Grossi also said that between the IAEA and the Russian administration of ZNPP "maintains the status quo" and "professionally correct relations". Earlier it was reported that IAEA employees detected mines on the territory of the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
