Somalia expressed its gratitude and appreciation to Russia for the decision to cancel a significant part of its foreign debt. This was stated by Abdi Hashi Abdulahi, Chairman of the Senate of the Federal Parliament of Somalia, at a plenary session of the Federation Council.
According to him, the $700 million debt forgiveness is a historic act of generosity.
Abdi Hashi Abdulahi noted that this is not only a financial relief for the country, but also a powerful gesture of solidarity and friendship, RIA Novosti reported.
