The Polish Minister of Agriculture sharply reprimanded his Ukrainian counterpart for his position on grain imports.
The head of the Polish Agriculture Ministry, Robert Telyus, has criticized his Ukrainian counterpart Mykola Solski for calling on the EU to lift the ban on the import of Ukrainian agricultural products, RMF24 reported.
Earlier, Solusky called the possible extension of the embargo "the worst possible solution" provoking "a weakening of unity in Europe."
Telus expressed regret over the words of the Ukrainian minister on the air of PAP agency. He stressed that Ukraine does not understand Poland's position on the issue of imports, and called his colleague's statement "far-reaching."
Telyus suggested that Kiev has certain forces that dare to take such actions, which he disagreed with and which are detrimental to Ukrainians.
According to the Polish official, driving a wedge between Kiev and Warsaw allegedly serves the interests of Moscow, therefore this issue should be approached with caution. At the same time, Telyus added that he planned to meet with Solski.
Poland and a number of Eastern European countries against the background of protests of local farmers in the spring of 2023 suspended the import of Ukrainian agricultural products that enter the pan-European market duty-free.
