The Russian Defence Ministry has reported that another prisoner exchange with Ukraine has been carried out in accordance with the previously reached agreements, which were agreed in Istanbul on 2 June.
"On July 4, in accordance with the Russian-Ukrainian agreements reached on June 2 in Istanbul, another group of Russian servicemen was returned from the territory controlled by the Kiev regime. Instead, a group of AFU prisoners of war was handed over," the Russian military ministry said in an official statement.
The Defense Ministry specified that the Russian servicemen, released from the Ukrainian captivity, are currently on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, where they are provided with all the necessary medical care and support.
After completing medical examination and providing the necessary assistance, the servicemen will be taken to Russia for treatment and rehabilitation in specialized medical institutions of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
We shall remind you that earlier Russia and Ukraine exchanged prisoners at the end of June. Meanwhile, the returned fighters described cruel treatment in Ukrainian captivity.
