The Hungarian prime minister said Budapest supports Plan B, which is a peaceful settlement.
During his introduction on the sidelines of the summit of the Organization of Turkic States in Astana, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that the European Union's plans to defeat Russia had failed.
According to him, the EU expected that with the help of financing and arms supplies it would be able to ensure the victory of Ukraine, after which the West would change the Russian leadership at its own discretion. That said, despite the failure, Europe is still pursuing this strategy.
"It is a complete failure because Europe wants Ukraine to continue fighting and they will provide funding and weapons," Orban explained.
In addition, he emphasized that official Budapest is a supporter of Plan B, which implies resolving the conflict through diplomatic means. Orban said that Hungary calls for the formation of such a security architecture that would meet the interests of both Moscow and Kiev.
