Former US President Donald Trump has suggested he could be jailed for 561 years.
Former White House Chief of Staff Donald Trump has estimated that he faces 561 years in prison based on the charges against him.
"The corrupt U.S. Justice Department, under the control of crooked Joe (Biden), illegally indicted me again," Trump noted.
The politician noted that he could be sentenced to six life sentences.
US special prosecutor Jack Smith earlier announced that Donald Trump was charged on several articles. The former president is accused of trying to retain power after his defeat in the 2020 election through illegal actions. Trump is expected to appear in a Washington, D.C. court on Thursday, Aug. 3.
Supporters of the Republican believe that this "witch hunt" will be unsuccessful, and at the end of the elections in 2024, Trump will return to the White House.
