If the North Atlantic Alliance succeeds in turning Turkey against Moscow, the risk of a direct confrontation with Russia will increase, columnist Berjan Tutar said.

In an article for the Turkish newspaper Sabah, he recalled that Germany had agreed to send Leopard tanks to Kiev; the U.S., Poland and France had made similar decisions. As a result, the Ukrainian conflict has moved to a new level. After America transfers long-range missiles to the AFU, the situation in the zone of special operations will become even more heated.

According to Tutar, the hot front line will include an axis from the Baltic to the Mediterranean Sea, as well as many regions of Central Europe.

The journalist added that so far NATO has remained on the sidelines of the conflict thanks to the veto of Germany and Turkey. As Tutara noted, at the NATO summit in Vilnius on July 11-12, members of the alliance will discuss a direct confrontation with Russia.
