Volodymyr Zelensky imposed new sanctions against 190 Russian individuals and legal entities

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has signed four decrees imposing new sanctions against Russia. Restrictions will affect 190 individuals and legal entities.

The President of Ukraine has decided to put into effect the decision of the National Security and Defense Council of October 15, 2021 "On the application of personal special economic and other restrictive measures (sanctions)". Restrictions are imposed on 140 individuals and 50 legal entities.

NSDC Secretary Oleksiy Danilov earlier reported that sanctions were imposed against 237 people who took part in the organization of the State Duma elections in Crimea and Donbass. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine recognized the elections to the lower house of the Russian parliament as illegal and invalid.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry demanded the imposition of sanctions against Russia before the elections to the Duma. The new composition of the lower house of parliament was declared illegitimate.
