Manila and Moscow are in talks about supplying Russian fertilizers.
Russia and the Philippines are negotiating the supply of Russian fertilizers. Russian Ambassador to the Philippines Marat Pavlov spoke about this in an interview with RIA Novosti.
The diplomat said that negotiations are already underway and the issue of fertilizer supplies from Russia is being raised by Manila at the highest level. As Pavlov noted, the “health” of the Philippine economy depends on the import of Russian fertilizers.
The leader of the country, Marcos, who prioritizes the country's food security, said that the issue of providing it with affordable fertilizers is a priority. The politician is interested in the supply of products from Russia.
Former Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte has said he considers Russian President Vladimir Putin his friend. The politician said that he supported maintaining a neutral position regarding the special operation in Ukraine.
