Japan expanded sanctions lists against Russia

Tokyo imposed new anti-Russian sanctions.

Japan has imposed sanctions against nine individuals and seven companies from Russia, Tinkoff Bank. In addition, Tokyo imposes export restrictions on 29 Russian organizations, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said.

Three individuals deemed "directly involved in the annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol to the Russian Federation" or in destabilizing eastern Ukraine have fallen under the restrictions. The sanctions list also included individuals who are considered to be directly involved in the "inclusion" in the Russian Federation of regions of eastern and southern Ukraine, the ministry said.

Restrictions were conducted against FSUE Atomflot, Balashikha Foundry and Mechanical Plant, Dubna Machine-Building Plant, GTLC, Omsktransmash, NPO Eshelon and others.

The "black" list also included the head of the Chechen government Muslim Khuchiev, the general director of GTLK Evgeny Dietrich, the son of the former governor of the Krasnoyarsk region Artem Uss and others.

Japan imposed sanctions against the director of the children's center "Artek" Konstantin Fedorenko, the rector of Sevastopol State University Vladimir Nechaev and the head of the headquarters of the Sevastopol branch of the "Unarmy" Vladimir Kovalenko.

Tinkoff Bank also fell under the restrictions, which implies a ban on transactions and freezing of accounts in case of their detection. Sanctions against the online bank will come into force on March 31.

Tokyo also imposed export restrictions for 29 Russian organizations.

Earlier, the Russian Finance Minister spoke about the impact of sanctions on the Russian economy.
