Testing of a new electric bus of a particularly large class developed by KamAZ under the index 6292 has begun in Moscow. This modern form of public transportation was launched on the E10 route connecting Salaryevo and Kitay-Gorod metro stations, where more than 18 thousand trips are made daily on weekdays.

The electric harmonica bus will be tested in different weather conditions and at different times of the year. During the tests, experts will evaluate its technical characteristics, passenger comfort and driving qualities. Based on the results obtained, a decision will be made on the possible purchase of such electric buses for operation on the busiest city routes.

According to the press service of the mayor and government of Moscow, the electric bus with the size of 18.7 meters has a range of at least 135 kilometers after a full charge. It is equipped with all the usual amenities for city residents, designed for a large number of passengers.

The saloon has 47 seats, four fare payment devices and three screens with information about the route. The storage area can comfortably accommodate a stroller, bicycle or large luggage. For passengers with disabilities, there is a folding ramp and driver call buttons for assistance in boarding and disembarking. The car is equipped with a two-zone climate control system and electric heaters.

Deputy Mayor of Moscow Maxim Liksutov noted that electric transportation is actively developing in the capital. A new electric bus of a particularly large class started to run in test mode along the E10 express route covering five capital districts. Thanks to its increased capacity, this model provides more comfortable rides for a larger number of passengers. By 2035 it is planned to transfer almost the entire fleet of “Mosgortrans” to electric traction, emphasized Liksutov.

Sobyanin approved the outlined plans for the development of the navigation system of Moscow.

In Mosgortrans, the work of the dispatcher was taken over by artificial intelligence.
