From January to August Moscow was visited by 15.5 million tourists, said Acting Deputy Mayor of the capital Natalia Sergunina.
The average hotel occupancy was about 80%, which allows creating comfortable conditions for the market development. Spending by travelers is estimated at 758.4 billion rubles, of which 103.9 billion will be directed to the city budget.
Sergunina noted that this is 87% of revenues for the whole of 2022, reported on the portal of the mayor and government of Moscow.
The bulk of the tourist flow came from Russians. Moscow implements joint tourist projects with the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Nizhny Novgorod and Kazan. They allow to get acquainted with its sights.
Sergunina added that the city is actively developing cooperation with the CIS countries, the Middle East and others.
