Moscow saves 2.5 billion rubles annually by refusing to print checks and paper tickets

The Troika virtual card was launched in urban public transportation, after which fare payment became available by any smartphone.

Such information appeared in the Telegram channel of Moscow Deptrans.

The head of the department Maxim Liksutov said that the virtual “Troika” can be issued in the application “Moscow Metro”. He said that it is necessary to choose a ticket from the available fares and link a bank card.

The Deptrans has noted that the virtual “Troika” will be able to work on any smartphone. The service itself operates on the basis of QR codes.

Liksutov has specified that the virtual “Troika” has been developed on the basis of domestic technologies, it can be used by the owners of all 50 million issued plastic cards. Thanks to the digitalization of the ticket system Moscow saves 2.5 billion rubles annually due to the refusal from printing receipts and paper tickets, the Deputy Mayor specified.

The Deptrans has informed that in order to get on the virtual “Troika” in the subway, on the MCC, MCD and river transport it is necessary to bring the screen of the phone with an active QR code to the reader at the turnstile. In ground transportation it is necessary to scan a QR code at the validator screen with the help of a smartphone camera.
