The second court of cassation cancelled the sentence of blogger Edward Bil in the case of a mass road accident in central Moscow and sent the materials for a new trial to a different court of first instance.
The Second Court of Appeal overturned the conviction of blogger Edward Bil and sent his case of a mass accident in the center of Moscow to the Presnensky Court for a new hearing in a different composition. The reason was the presentation by the prosecutor's office, which felt that the blogger's sentence was too lenient.
The young man was again elected a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions, as reported by lawyer Sergei Zhorin.
Recall that in July the guy was sentenced to two years of restricted freedom, as well as deprived of his driver's license for three years, but the prosecutor's office appealed that verdict, considering it too lenient. The court of appeal did not change the Presnensky Court's decision, so the supervisory authority filed a cassation.
The blogger pleaded guilty in full and paid compensation to the victim, the amount of which was not disclosed.
Recall, the accident occurred on April 1 on the Garden Ring, not far from Smolensk Square. Bill, driving Audi RS6, drove into the oncoming traffic lane, where he demolished four cars. As a result of the accident an employee of the State Duma apparatus was seriously injured.
