Moscow Offices registered a record number of marriages in the last 105 years in 2022

At the end of last year there were registered 15% more marriages in the capital than in 2021.

More than 100 thousand marriages were registered in Moscow during 2022, which was a record for the last 105 years. This was announced today, January 24, by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, Anastasia Rakova.

The Deputy mayor noted that there is a tendency to increase the number of marriages at the moment. Thus, by the end of last year it was registered by 15% more marriages than in 2021.

She specified that there were 100 613 couples in the capital, which was the record figure for the 105-year history of the Moscow registry offices.

The representative of the mayor's office added that the city government is working hard to provide the residents of Moscow with the best format of the marriage ceremony. So, at the moment in the capital there are almost 200 sites for weddings.
