The Moscow International Film Week will take place in Moscow from August 23 to 28. During the week the capital is expected to see movie screenings, excursions, master classes, concerts and spectacular shows. This was reported in the press service of the Department of Culture of the city.
According to Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, the event will be one of the biggest cultural events of the year. The Cinema Week will involve 100 venues, including almost 30 city and private cinemas, parks, museums, art spaces and hotels. About 200 events are planned to be held daily.
The organizers have also announced more than 300 film screenings for audiences of all ages. The program will feature works by Chinese directors such as “I Remember,” “Step to Dream” and “King of the Sky,” the Indian melodrama “Notes on Life,” and the Iranian drama “The Salesman.” The films will be seen at unusual locations, including outdoor pools and hotel rooftops.
In addition, mobile filming pavilions will appear in VDNKh, Gorky Park, Novopushkinsky Square, Trubnaya and Triumfalnaya Squares. In these pavilions visitors will be able to try their hand at acting, camerawork and screenwriting, as well as record video business cards.
