Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said at a meeting with President Vladimir Putin that since 2011 there has been 1.5 million more Muscovites.

According to the Mayor, the preliminary results of the census were summed up, according to which over a period of 10 years the number of residents in Moscow has increased and came close to the figure of 13 million. While the counting is still in process, it is possible that the number will be higher.

The All-Russian Population Census was conducted in the country from October 15 to November 14, 2021, and in some hard-to-reach regions it was completed on December 20.
