Moscow began testing new equipment for metro turnstiles

New equipment allows you to quickly read cards, you can also pay for travel without unlocking your smartphone.

According to the press service of the Moscow Department of Transportation, the first Aisle Zone Controller (AUC) of the new generation is installed at Prospect Mira station of Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya subway. AUC is a part of the validator, to which the ticket is attached. Now it is being tested to read Troika and paper tickets.

Gradually, the number of AUC in the subway will increase. In the near future, the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of the city of Moscow plans to introduce alternative ways to pay for travel: using a QR code, virtual Troika, and bank cards.

According to the Head of the Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development of Moscow Maxim Liksutov, it is planned to install the equipment of a domestic manufacturer using the Russian software. Thus passengers' comfort will be improved and an impetus will be given to the development of high-tech Russian industry
