New streetcar route 5,7 km long will connect a number of districts in the east of Moscow

A new streetcar route with the length of 5.7 km will appear in the East of the capital.

The official website of the mayor of Moscow reports that a new streetcar route with a length of 5.7 km will appear in the east of the capital. The streetcar line will connect the districts of Metrogorodok, Golyanovo, Severnoe Izmailovo and Izmailovo. The new route will take passengers to "Izmailovskaya" and "Rokossovsky Boulevard" metro stations.

The construction of the new streetcar line will improve transportation services and reduce the time it takes to get to subway stations and places of work, the developers of the project are confident.

"The streetcar is the most modern type of ground urban transport and the second largest in terms of capacity after the subway. The emergence of new connections will ensure the stable operation of urban transport regardless of road conditions," said Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport Maxim Liksutov.

It is expected that the new streetcar line will be used by about 65 thousand people per day.
