On the threshold of the summer season, specialists of the Moscow municipal economy complex plan to install about two hundred floating structures designed to accommodate waterfowl on various water bodies of the city. This is reported by the Official Portal of the Mayor and Government of Moscow.
The floating structures are designed to provide comfortable and safe conditions for waterfowl to rest on the water, which is especially important for young chicks after long swims. First of all, the houses will be placed on water bodies where there are no natural gentle slopes to the shoreline.
The specialized enterprise “Mosvodostok” carries out complex maintenance of 270 city ponds, including cleaning of the water area and adjacent territory, control over water quality and maintaining the stability of the ecosystem of each pond. Since 2012, rehabilitation and improvement works have been carried out at 160 water bodies.
During the winter period, specialists carried out a thorough inspection of each wooden cabin, cleaned and disinfected the surfaces, as well as performed the necessary repairs and replacement of damaged elements.
