They could face up to six years in prison.
On Friday, October 13, Navalny's associate and foreign agent Ivan Zhdanov reported in social network X that the lawyers of opposition politician Navalny (recognized as a terrorist and extremist) were being searched. As it turned out, they are suspected of participation in an extremist community. According to Zhdanov, Vadim Kobzev, Igor Sergunin and Alexei Liptser are being searched.
And Leonid Volkov, another foreign agent, said the lawyers could face up to six years in a penal colony. According to him, Navalny will soon be transferred to a special-regime colony after he was given a new sentence of 19 years in prison for extremism. And if the lawyers are arrested, they won't even be able to find out where their client is.
Navalny's associates believe that all this is an act of intimidation and an attempt to further isolate the politician from the outside world. Earlier Navalny said that he had been transferred to a single cell-type facility (SCF) for a year, which is considered the strictest punishment in penal colonies.
