Moscow city Wi-Fi network has become one of the largest in the world

This year, the Moscow city Wi-Fi network turned nine years old. At the beginning of this year, its traffic volume exceeded eight petabytes, and Muscovites and guests of the capital connected to the network more than 62 million times. This was announced by Natalya Sergunina, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow.

"Over the years of development, the city Wi-Fi network in Moscow has become one of the largest in the world. Now it has more than 24,000 access points. At the same time, the coverage is constantly expanding. Wireless Internet works in many streets within the Garden Ring and even in the Third Transport Ring, as well as in almost a thousand different facilities and institutions, from libraries and parks to student dormitories," said Natalia Sergunina

About 800 new access points appeared in the capital this year, including the network began to work throughout the central part of the Exhibition of Economic Achievements.
