The number of self-employed in Moscow exceeded 1.6 million people in March

The self-employed brought more than 26 billion rubles of taxes to the city budget, and earned more than a trillion rubles in five years.

In Moscow the number of self-employed on March 1, 2024 exceeded 1.6 million people - this is 17% of the total number of self-employed in Russia, said Deputy Mayor for Economic Policy and Property and Land Relations Vladimir Efimov.

Since January, 46 thousand people have received the new status. For five years of existence of such taxation regime the self-employed earned more than a trillion rubles and transferred to the city budget more than 26 billion rubles, 55 billion rubles earned only for the first two months of 2024.

Self-employed can be those who work for themselves and do not hire employees. Registration is simple, the mode of transferring information on income received is automated, it is not necessary to use cash register equipment and provide reporting.

The most popular types of activity among Moscow self-employed are passenger transportation, delivery, renting out apartments, advertising and marketing, construction and tutoring.
