Moscow is preparing to launch “people’s carsharing” service

Moscow authorities started working on a project for leasing private cars between individuals back in 2018.

The development of the project was announced long ago, but only now there is talk that the Moscow Department of Transport is ready in the near future to launch a platform that will allow car owners to rent them out to other people, the so-called "people's carsharing". This was reported by the publication RBC, citing sources.

Meanwhile, there is a possibility that those who use this service will not be able to park for free, unlike the traditional services of car sharing. One of the newspaper's interlocutors said that the "people's carsharing" could be more profitable for those who are willing to rent their car for a long time, for example, for a holiday or a business trip.

The new service will help car owners earn money. At the same time there will be significant benefits for the city - the roads will be unloaded. Maxim Liksutov, head of the capital's transport complex, spoke about this.
