Two streets near the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow are closed on the evening of January 6 because of the Christmas service, as reported by the information center of the Russian capital's transport complex.
Thus, the evening before Christmas night in Moscow the streets around the Cathedral of Christ the Savior will be blocked, which is associated with the holiday service.
Traffic will be blocked from 18:00 local time. Restrictions will be in force until 03:00, January 7.
Motorists will not be able to travel along a section of Soimonovsky Prospekt, from Volkhonka Street to the Prechistenskaya Embankment, as well as a section of Volkhonka Street from Soimonovsky Prospekt to Leninki.
Service in the temple will begin at 08:30 - Great Hours, at 10:00 - Great Vespers, the Liturgy of St. Basil the Great, and at 17:00 will begin the All-Night Vigil, at 23:00 is scheduled to repeat the All-Night Vigil. The Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom and the Patriarchal Vigil will follow.
