The air temperature in the center of Moscow even an hour before midnight remained above the mark of plus 28 degrees Celsius, according to the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia.
So, in the area of the hotel "Balchug" at 23:00 Moscow time thermometers showed 28.3 degrees of heat, and at the main meteorological station of the city, located at VDNKh, the temperature at the same time was 25.7 degrees. In the Moscow region, the hottest point was Dolgoprudny, where it is now plus 27.3 degrees.
Earlier, the scientific head of the Russian Hydrometeorological Center Roman Vilfand told TASS that today's air temperature reached the record of 1890, warming up to plus 32 degrees. Earlier, the maximum value for this day was 31.9 degrees.
Meanwhile, in the metropolitan region until noon on Thursday, July 4, continues to operate orange level of weather danger. On coloristic maps, this indicates weather conditions with a high probability of natural disasters and damage.
