A little panda from the Moscow Zoo has been given a nickname. She was named Katusha. This was announced by Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
In voting on "Active Citizen" participated more than 380 thousand people. It was offered to choose from ten names. The leaders were Masha, Mo-mo and Katyusha.
The latter won with a small margin (29%).
Panda is four months old, she walks well, she has many teeth. The animal weighs 8.6 kg, body length - 79.5 cm, said the mayor.
Katusha was born in the Moscow Zoo in late summer. Her parents Zhui and Dindin brought to the capital in 2019 for 15 years under the program for the conservation, protection and research of large pandas.
