The capital of Russia won the European stage of the international World Travel Awards in two main nominations.
This was told by the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin.
Moscow won the nomination "The Best Travel Destination. City", bypassing Barcelona, Venice, London, Paris, Rome and other leading European megacities. In addition, the Russian capital won the nomination "The best tourist destination for studying cultural heritage in Europe".
The open vote was held on the official portal of the prize until August 17. The jury took into account the opinion of both tourism industry specialists and tourists. Winners will be announced at an online ceremony on November 27. In 2019, Moscow won the nomination "Best Tourist Destination".
The World Travel Awards are the most prestigious awards in the field of tourism, it is even called the “tourist Oscar”.
