According to the results of 2023, the volume of social expenditures of the Moscow budget reached 2.3 trillion rubles. This information was announced by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development, on Monday, April 1.
In her speech, Rakova emphasized that the capital strives to provide support to its residents in all spheres. Last year, the important renovation of the city's polyclinics was continued, and a new standard of emergency care was introduced.
A significant part of the budget is directed to support the citizens and improve their living conditions, as well as to the development of health care, education, culture and other social spheres. These expenditures amounted to more than half of the capital's total budget.
Elena Zyabbarova, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Finance, noted that the expenditures on the social sphere increased by 22% compared to the previous year. The authorities also retain all existing benefits and support measures for the citizens.
Within the framework of social support programs the capital provides comprehensive assistance to citizens with disabilities and parents of children with disabilities. The system of secondary vocational education was also modernized, new schools and kindergartens were opened, and old premises were overhauled.
