Until 2028 within the old boundaries of Moscow it is planned to comprehensively improve about 3.6 thousand streets, said the mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin in his blog. These works are part of the strategy to improve the urban environment, calculated until 2030.
Since 2011, 825 streets and squares in Moscow have been modernized, which is about 18% of the total number of streets in the old city boundaries. In the period from 2024 to 2028 it is planned to tidy up 3,679 streets in these areas. Similar works will be carried out in the new districts of the capital.
The program of complex improvement includes renewal of road surface, creation of convenient approaches and entrances to residential buildings, as well as improvement of the territory from one street facade to another. New crosswalks, modern stop pavilions, navigation steles and other elements of the urban environment will be installed as part of the project.
Special attention will be paid to the repair of 19 major outbound highways, most of which were reconstructed 8-10 years ago. The plans include renovation of building facades, improvement of lighting and increase of green areas.
Earlier in Moscow promised to increase the number of charging stations to 30 thousand by 2030. Also Sobyanin told about the progress of construction of another bridge across the Moscow River.
