According to a report on the website of the mayor of Moscow, on the instructions of the mayor, against the background of the spread of the Omicron covid strain, the number of hotline operators 122 was increased to seven thousand.

Operators provide consultations about medical care 24 hours a day, make an appointment with the doctor and from 07.00 to 24.00 accept applications to call a doctor at home. In emergency cases, calls are routed to the ambulance.

These measures allow to handle a big flow of simultaneous calls, while the Muscovites can get through to 122 and get medical help quicker. There is a voice assistant on the line, who gives information to the operator after clarification of the situation. The operator assesses the condition of the caller and provides appropriate assistance.

For Muscovites who do not wait for an answer, the operators call back themselves. The system identifies unanswered calls and places them in the operators' database for calling back.
