The mayor of the capital Sergey Sobyanin announced that since the beginning of the current year allowances and social payments for Moscow families with children have been increased by 5%. He also noted that over the last ten years the number of families with several children has more than tripled.
Currently, more than 500 thousand children are being brought up in such families, who receive various types of support, including monthly payments, compensations, benefits and the right to free urban and suburban transportation.
In addition, the mayor stressed the presence of 18 family centers in the city, which provide comprehensive assistance to families in difficult life situations. Five of them are specialized in providing support to children with developmental disorders. There is also a mediation service, which helps to resolve conflicts and improve relationships.
Over the past 13 years, the city government has made significant strides in addressing the problem of orphanhood, increasing the proportion of children in foster care by 1.4 times. To support foster families and the socialization of children, 12 centers and more than 40 schools for foster parents have been opened.
In addition, various social projects are being implemented in Moscow, such as "Let's Make Friends!" and "Silver Mentoring", which help strengthen ties between different generations and provide additional support for children without parental care.
It is important to note that over the last 13 years the share of orphans living in centers has decreased fourfold, which testifies to the effectiveness of the measures taken. The events held in the centers for the promotion of family upbringing, such as open days, provide an opportunity for citizens to get acquainted with the conditions of foster parenting and spend time together with children in an informal atmosphere.
Earlier we wrote that Moscow families with many children will have digital certificates.
