By the end of the decade five new routes along the river will be added in the metropolis. This information was announced by Sergei Sobyanin, the head of the city of Moscow, on February 28.
As part of the development of environmentally friendly and fast transportation, it is planned to use almost the entire water area of the Moscow River inside the city. This implies the creation of five new river routes by 2030.
At the moment, 12 electric ships and 12 domestically produced wharves are in operation. It is expected to increase their number to 60 and 67 respectively by 2030, which will allow city residents to move faster and more comfortably. In addition, it is planned to renew the pleasure and cruise fleet on the river.
