Off the coast of Florida, 18 Cuban migrants went missing when their boat sank due to a hurricane

Eighteen people are missing after a boat carrying migrants from Cuba sank off the coast of the U.S. state of Florida due to Ian Hurricane.

However, four people managed to swim to shore. According to the U.S. Coast Guard, three more people were rescued in the water and taken to hospital, they were recorded symptoms of hypothermia and dehydration, reports Reuters.

Search and rescue efforts are underway and led by the Coast Guard. Authorities said they rescued a total of nine people who were floating on the boat.

Earlier, the Florida authorities reported six victims of Hurricane Ian.
