More than thousand activists took part in riots and robberies in Philadelphia

More than a thousand activists took part in store robberies in Philadelphia yesterday after riots broke out days earlier due to the death of black Walter Wallace.

On October 26, after numerous warnings, Philadelphia law enforcement officers shot several times at 27-year-old black Walter Wallace, who allegedly had a knife. The man died from his injuries that caused a wave of indignation, which grew into riots.

During the protest, more than 30 police officers were injured, 91 people were detained. Activists threw bricks and other heavy objects at security forces. One officer was run over by a truck.

On Twitter, on the page of the city police department, information appeared that yesterday more than a thousand people took part in the robbery of enterprises in the area of Aramingo Avenue and Castor Avenue.

Attackers broke into stores of large retail chains such as Walmart, Burlington Coat, Target and Dollar General, from where they took out goods, loaded it into the luggage of cars and got away.

Local residents were advised not to leave homes, for security reasons.
