Two metal contact poles of the power grid are reported damaged.
On Wednesday, July 27 at about 04.00 in Lazarevsky District of Sochi near Lazurny Bereg railway station there was a ground derailment. The accident occurred on the Chemitokvadze-Yakornaya Schel section. Two metal poles of the power grid were damaged as a result of the mud slides.
There were 12 passenger and one freight train delayed because of the incident. There were no casualties.
Now 24 people and four units of equipment from the Unified State System of Emergency Prevention and Response are working at the scene. A task force of Sochi fire and rescue garrison is assisting them.
According to Russian Railways, tracks are now cleared and train traffic has almost returned to normal.
