An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.9 points this morning occurred near the Northern Kuriles, as reported by representatives of the Sakhalin branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
On October 26 at 10:39 local time specialists of Sakhalin branch of single geophysical service of RAS registered an earthquake with magnitude 4.9 in the Pacific Ocean near Kurils.
Epicenter of this seismic event was located in 101 kilometers from Onekotan island. The focus was located at a depth of 31 kilometers.
Residents of the Paramushir island, which is part of the northern group of the Kuril Islands, felt tremors up to two points. No tsunami threat was announced. No damage was recorded. There are no casualties.
