Anthrax outbreak is suspected in Dagestan

Several residents were hospitalized. Doctors do rounds.

In the village of Kakamakhi, in the Karabudakhkent district of Dagestan, five residents were hospitalized with suspected anthrax. This is stated on the website of the Ministry of Health of the Republic.

Now the patients are lying in separate boxes of an infectious hospital. They receive antibacterial therapy. They constantly measure the temperature.

It is noted that cases of infection were recorded on October 24-26. Now 14 more people are at risk. They have been monitored - it will take eight days to determine whether they have contracted anthrax.

According to the Dagestan Ministry of Health, the infection occurred, as expected, during slaughtering and cutting of cattle meat.

Doctors began house-to-house not only in the alleged center of infection, but also other villages of the Dagestan region.
