A man armed with a machete attacked and killed a priest in two churches in the city of Algeciras, Cadiz province, Spain.
According to El Pais, the attacker was 25-year-old Moroccan Yassin Kanja.
According to investigators, he entered the San Isidro church in the city center and then began arguing with the parishioners there.
He insinuated that they should follow Islam. The terrorist later returned with a machete and attacked the priest. A national court is already treating the case as Islamist terrorism.
After the first attack, the perpetrator did not calm down and went to the La Palma church. He used a machete to smash icons and candles before climbing onto the altar in the church.
The priest asked him to leave the church, but the Moroccan attacked him and stabbed him several times. The priest was killed and three people were injured.
The perpetrator attempted to escape, but the police apprehended him.
