The Russian Ministry of Defense reports an explosion in Nagorno-Karabakh. The incident occurred while searching for the bodies of those killed during the conflict.
"A Russian officer was wounded in the search for the bodies of the dead due to an explosion. An officer of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan died in an explosion of ammunition, four more representatives of the Ministry of Emergencies of Nagorno-Karabakh were injured," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The search for people was carried out near the village of Madagiz in Terter district. The Red Cross specialists were also involved in the work. The Russian soldier was taken to a hospital located in Baku. He is receiving medical care, there is no threat to his life.
"The groups, set up to search for those killed in Nagorno-Karabakh, have been working cohesively for a week. All found bodies are transferred to the parties to the conflict," the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said earlier that Turkish troops will soon join peacekeepers from Russia in Nagorno-Karabakh. They will work in the region for one year.
