A powerful manifestation of a natural element has not on a joke frightened numerous visitors to the Yellowstone National Park (USA).
A geyser eruption of such power and intensity does not happen very often. An eyewitness' camera lens captured the moment when multi-meter-high streams of red-hot steam, mud and water surged into the sky.
“The geothermal explosion inside Yellowstone scattered rocks, damaged a walkway and caused the closure of the incident area,” journalists told US television station Fox News.
In the available footage, tourists can be seen running in fear as they sought a safe zone at the time and after the geyser eruption ended.
The press service of Yellowstone National Park said that a similarly powerful incident occurred in 2009. In this case, there are no fears of repeated eruptions, as the volcanic system is in a relatively stable state.
Earlier it became known that the eruption of the volcano on Sakhalin may threaten air transportation.
