A local man in Cyprus has set a new record by holding 319 glasses on his head while dancing.

Aristotelis Valaoritis, 62, works as a security advisor by day and in the evenings entertains the public by dancing with glasses on his head. It is worth noting that this is a separate art form traditional to Cyprus.

Aristotelis made it into the Guinness Book of World Records, breaking the previous record of 49 glasses. The last time the record was set by Cypriot Ntinos Kkanti, who managed to hold 270 glasses.

Aristotelis needed 9 trays to place all the flutes. The weight of such a structure exceeded 30 kilograms. After the last tray was placed, the Cypriot held the structure for about 20 seconds, while the record requires 10 seconds. The rules do not require any movements, but Aristotelis danced anyway.

The man approached the event responsibly and trained his neck every day so that it was ready to bear the huge weight. To do this, he spent five minutes a day holding a 50-kilogram sand barrel suspended from a tree on his head.
