According to the Ministry of Health of Dagestan, the girls were taken to hospital in extremely serious condition with serious burns and carbon monoxide poisoning. Despite the efforts of doctors, they could not be saved.
According to journalist Aina Gamzatova, the fire was caused by the carelessness of a club employee who set fire to a glove and threw it near the kerosene containers. As a result, the room where the girls were, and the door was locked, caught fire. The husband of one of them and another young man had to break down the door and look for a fire extinguisher in the dark.
Gamzatova questioned why the club staff did not let the customers out and did not come running with fire extinguishers after the fire broke out.
The fire occurred at night on July 22. A criminal case has been opened by the investigative authorities.
